Introducing the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Exterior

The new-look 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been redesigned from the ground up. This is a sleekest, most styled version yet of Mercedes-Benz best-selling, mid-sized sedan. Featuring the new Mercedes-Benz “Sensual Purity” design language, which was unveiled most recently with the S-Class and C-Class redesigns, the new E-Class appear younger, less stiff and sportier than its predecessors. In 2017, the E-Class receives a more aggressively styled front fascia. With the E 300 and E 300 4MATIC® sedans, the fascia features a two-bar chrome grille with an embedded Mercedes star. Plus, thanks to the redesign, the 2017 E-Class has a more aerodynamic, flowing silhouette. Features like available 5-spoke Sport Wheels, chrome door handles, a panorama roof, and a rear spoiler help to set off the 2017 E-Class’s distinctive profile.

Interior

Mercedes’ signature cabin elegance is on full display inside the 2017 E-Class. From the hand-stitched seats to the sustainable wood accents, the E-Class is unparalleled in its supreme style. In 2017, the E-Class cabin has also undergone a significant redesign. New technologies and comfort features, like the fingertip controls and the available dual 12.3-inch high-definition displays. Plus, a range of premium finishes are available including a palette of Nappa leather seating surfaces, an LED interior ambiance lighting package, design Black Piano or Magnolia wood accents, and available ventilated front seats.

Technology

In terms of technology, the 2017 E-Class is in a league of its own. One of the first vehicles to deliver semi-autonomous driving features, the newly designed E-Class delivers a truly state-of-the-art driving experience. Semi-autonomous features include:

• Drive Pilot: With Drive Pilot, Mercedes has greatly advanced intelligent cruise control. Drive Pilot senses the road around the vehicle, using road markings as its guide, and can follow traffic and maneuver around curves autonomously.
• PRESAFE®: The E-Class’s advanced pre-collision system senses when a collision is imminent using sound, visual and vehicle output clues. The system automatically initiates a variety of safety features is a collision seems imminent.
• Parking Pilot: An available feature Parking Pilot, autonomously parks the vehicle using its rear, side and front sonars systems as a guide.
• Autonomous Lane Changes: When using Drive Pilot, the E-Class can make lane changes by itself. Just engage the turn signal, and the E-Class takes care of the rest.

In addition to its first-ever semi-autonomous features, the 2017 E-Class also receives a suite of innovative infotainment features. From COMAND® navigation, to available dual 12.3-inch screens, the E-Class offers it all. Apple CarPlay is a standard option, as is a steering-mounted touchpad controller.

Performance

The 2017 E 300 sedan is powered by an efficient, yet powerful, 2.0L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder. The engine puts out up to 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission, the 2017 E 300 zooms 0 to 60 MPH in just over 6 seconds. Plus, the Dynamic Select system enables drivers to optimize outputs to suit their driving demeanors. Additional options include 4MATIC® – Mercedes’ all-wheel-drive system – which splits power evenly between the front and rear, as well as Air Body Control, an air suspension and adaptive damper system that reduces bumpiness on the road.

Safety

Equipped with a range of innovative safety features and advanced sonar technology, the E-Class has been engineered to offer maximum protection to every passenger.
