What to Expect From the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS
Stunned onlookers enjoyed the premiere of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS at November’s Los Angeles Auto Show. Scheduled to arrive at Mercedes-Benz of Naples in the fall of 2018, the information below provides a sneak peek for those eagerly anticipated its availability.
The reduced lines and clear contours of the four-door 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS coupe reflect the timeless design that is associated with this segment of the iconic Mercedes-Benz brand. This debut marks the introduction of an all-new turbocharged engine with inline six cylinders that delivers 369 lb-ft of torque. This engine also features EQ Boost which gives the 2019 Mercedes-Benz horsepower and torque. The EQ Boost hybrid system adds 21 horsepower and 184 lb-ft to the coupe’s already impressive stats to deliver short bursts of speed when needed. This six-cylinder engine also features a starter-generator that’s integrated within it design. It’s mated with a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission.
Additionally, this engine is the epitome of perfection. It combines its impressive strength with the ability to idle or even shut down the car’s engine when it is coasting or stopped. This helps to conserve fuel while also recapturing any wasted energy with its regenerative braking system. True to Mercedes-Benz form, this strong showing under the hood doesn’t mean that comfort and convenience is compromised.
“The new CLS is a design icon as the archetype of the four-door coupe. In line with our hot & cool design philosophy, we have reduced its DNA to an extremely puristic level while emotionally charging its beauty.”
-Gorden Vagener, Chief Design Officer of Daimler AG
