3rd Annual Treviso Bay Breast Cancer Golf Tournament

Every year, you likely hear about several different events designed to bring breast cancer awareness to a community and raise money for research. In our area, you have probably heard about the TPC Treviso Bay Breast Cancer Golf Tournament. They just recently hosted the annual event for the third year in a row and as part of it, they partnered with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Naples.

About the Event

This is a two day event that takes place at TPC Treviso Bay. It is held during two in season ladies and men’s days at the location. The idea is to raise money for breast cancer research as well as other local programs and services that can help women in the area. The event also helps to pay for the Road to Recovery Program which is a program that provide free rides to and from treatment for breast cancer patients. Another program it is designed to help is the Look Good Feel Better program that offers free makeup and wigs to breast cancer patients in the local area . The final thing it funds is lodging for any local breast cancer patients that have to receive their healthcare outside of the Naples area.

The Results of the Event

There are plenty of opportunities to raise money during the two day event and that is exactly what happened. This year, the tournament brought in the largest revenue they have ever gotten since the event began. The total was over $37,000. There were 248 golfers who took part in the two day event but there were other ways that the revenue was brought in as well. A lot of the money was collected through donations from local businesses, silent auctions, raffle auctions, and other mini events. Because of their amazing success this year, the event is on track to be the most successful one in the area for all of 2017.

How Mercedes-Benz of Naples Helped

Mercedes-Benz of Naples was one of the businesses that provided a donation but we did not do it in the form of a cash donation. Instead, we provided a Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 as a hole in one prize for both days. This helped provide incentive for more golfers to sign up so more money could be raised through the event. With the help of Mercedes-Benz of Naples, we really did help them reach this amazing goal in the area and for the people who suffer from this type of cancer.

While there are a lot of fundraisers that happen every year for breast cancer, it is still not enough. The Treviso Bay Breast Cancer Golf Tournament is a great event because it not only helps provide money for breast cancer research but it also directly helps the people who live in the Naples area who are impacted. The event was a huge success this year and we expect it to only get better and more successful from here.
